I was just thinking about applying to IS next semester so I was wondering if it matters if I take CS 142 or IS 303? Is there one that is more applicable to finance and accounting?

Good question! In my opinion, IS 303 is better for students who are aiming for IS as their first choice (more connections to people already in the major and professors who teach in the IS program), and CS 142 is for students who may do CS or IS. I took both, and I enjoyed IS 303 more than CS 142.
